Initially introduced in 1996, the Porsche Boxster is reputed to be among the best roadsters worldwide when you consider its road handling capabilities. Termed as a mid-engine car, the Boxster’s six-cylinder engine can be found to the back of the seats before you get to the rear axle. You simply won’t find the engine underneath the hood because it is not really there. If you need to see the engine, you are going to have to look from underneath. A much more uniform weight distribution is actually a welcome benefit of the car’s engine being located near the center of the car. This presents the Porsche Boxster its reputation for top-notch handling.
